What is the difference between a power generator and an inverter?
Unlike conventional generators that use diesel, petrol or gas as a fuel, inverter generators with 3000 W and more convert direct current into alternating current. This offers any number of advantages:

Even though inverters do consume more fuel under full load and cost more than classic power generators, they are nonetheless a popular items of mobile workshop equipment. They offer an ideal combination of power and mobility that is absolutely sufficient for daily use. If you need a peak output, opt for classic generators with an output of 10 kW or more. While the voltage isn’t quite as well balanced, this isn’t actually necessary for power tools and large machines.

Generators with diesel

- More reliable in continuous operation
- Straightforward to maintain
- Heavier, larger and more expensive
- Harder to start in winter weather
Gas powered generators
- Score points due to cleaner combustion
- Lower operating costs
- Suitable for use regardless of weather conditions
- Comparatively loud in operation
- Can only be operated in enclosed rooms with ventilation
