Using the available spaces intelligently? Not a problem with our mezzanine floors: create additional storage space in your factory, or simply add space for an extra office. In this case, modular systems provide more flexibility and fewer costs. This way you'll get exactly the space you need.
Mezzanine floors: make more out of the space in the factory
If you have limited storage space at your disposal, and the height of the room is at least 4.5 metres, then mezzanine floors are the way to go. They are a straightforward way to enlarge the available space and can be installed without any major conversion measures. We’d like to tell you about the details you should pay attention to.
Configure a mezzanine floor with an office: what are the advantages of factory offices?
Partition wall systems and factory offices offer the same advantage as mezzanine floors: they easily create a new workspace where there wasn’t one before. If mezzanine floors and offices are combined, this creates a quiet workplace for the warehouse manager or foreman, who can keep an eye on what’s happening on the factory floor – and yet is right in the middle of the action. The new office takes up barely any floor space and is particularly versatile to install on the mezzanine floor. Just the way you need it.
Which regulations apply to mezzanine floors and elevated workplaces?
All prefab offices are subject to numerous regulations. For steel platforms erected at a height, a particularly large number of regulations, guidelines and instructions do, of course, exist, and need to be observed. The more exact you are about the requirements beforehand, the greater the precision with which the accessories required for the mezzanine floors can be selected, and choose the products that best suit you.
Which railing is used for a mezzanine floor?
The railing for a mezzanine floor is one of the most important safety elements for protecting your employee. This is why it must comply with many regulations. The basic regulations include:
- Minimum height 1 m (up to a fall height of 12 m)
- When the fall height is 12 m or more, the minimum height is 1.10 m
- Knee rail at a max. distance of max. 50 cm to foot rail and handrail
- Foot rail with a minimum height of 5 cm
- Only lockable doors at loading and unloading points, which open inwards (towards the mezzanine floor)
While it is good to be aware of these requirements, it’s even better if you rely on our expertise and simply order the right accessories for mezzanine floors in the right format right from the start. You will find the accessories that we recommend on the respective product page.
Which industrial steps may I use for mezzanine floors?
Just like the railing, the industrial steps for mezzanine floors must also meet certain standards. In this case, it is primarily a matter of a handrail and fall protection. For example, the steps must be equipped with two handrails if they are free-standing, and only one if they are installed up against a wall.
How do I set up a mezzanine floor?
Our steel mezzanine floors are as easy to assemble as our storage containers are, for example. Theoretically, you could easily disassemble and move the mezzanine floor elsewhere once it has been bolted together.
However, you will still need to observe any number of regulations during assembly and reconstruction, so try to make things easier for yourself in this case too. Commission us with on-site assembly and we will send the right professionals to your company. Of course, we are happy to plan the mezzanine floors entirely in line with the conditions at your location and ensure they comply with regulations.
