Anti-slip matting for load protection
This ensures everything is safely in place during transport: When you use non-slip matting for load securing, you prevent your goods from slipping around and can bring everything from A to B securely.
In the category Anti-slip matting for load protection we offer you products of the following brands: ratioform.
Non-slip matting for trucks: The right underlay to prevent damage
There's barely a more cost-effective way of meeting the load securing regulations: Non-slip matting for trucks and vans is a detail that is important when moving pallets and other goods from A to B safely. The only important thing is that you follow a few instructions.
What is required by law when using non-slip matting?
The guideline VDI 2700 contains all specifications on what constitutes suitable non-slip matting for securing loads, and how it is used:
- Non-slip matting meets the highest demands of tensile strength (min. 0.6 N/mm²), elongation at break (min. 60%) and static friction. This means that conventional construction and rubber matting is not a viable alternative.
- They must never be used for load securing alone, but are an additional detail. Cargo restraint straps and other products must be used.
- Non-slip matting supplied as rolls, or as finished products, is not only used on the floor of the transport vehicle, but also under belts to secure the load or as an intermediate layer when stacking goods.
You can quickly determine whether the matting and load have the correct fit: The securing layer must remain visible and protrude from under the feet of a Euro pallet or from between concrete components. This visual test is also carried out by the authorities – if the result is negative, a fine may be imposed.
Which non-slip matting do I use for what?
A key differentiating factor is the material quality, which is selected according to the load and load weight. PU matting is an all-rounder, while more complex polymers are exceptionally resilient. In addition, high-quality non-slip matting that comes on rolls is resistant to many substances such as acids and oils. This ensures the non-slip matting also functions as a protective layer for small leaks during transport.
The strength of the non-slip matting also determines how heavy the goods to be secured may be. In addition, the more uneven the floor on which the goods are transported, the thicker and the higher the quality of the matting should be.
