The benefits of storage container sheds for materials

Even on the largest of company grounds, storage space is hard to come by. Storing building materials and large items of equipment and keeping them protected from wind, storms, and theft is difficult without a robust, purpose-built steel container shed. There’s no need to worry about building new storage areas.

Setting up storage containers: important things to consider

Quick build container

The 'quick build storage container’ within our product range can be set up by two employees without tools in just a few minutes. How? Its ingenious connector system makes assembly so easy that it doesn’t need instructions. If you’d like to know more about how our flat pack containers work, watch the short video on the quick build storage container product page.

Materials container combination

The material container combinations can be interconnected on the long side, enabling you to create small warehouses with a floor area of up to 30 sq metres. Setting these storage containers up is easy, requiring only a few employees. The assembly is based on a plug-in connected system, similar to that used for the quick build containers. Due to the dimensions, a few more helping hands are needed.

Container sheds and planning permissions

Depending on the responsible public authority, storage and material containers are regarded as fixed, purpose-built buildings, so planning permission is required. It is irrelevant that these container sheds can be easily moved with a crane and do not require a foundation. Other jurisdictions take a different view and allow storage containers up to a certain size to be used without planning permission.

In the event of non-compliance with the applicable regulations, the authorities may impose fines and often demand the demolition of the container. However, safety regulations regarding snow load, ground load capacity, wind and suction loads and safety clearances remain unaffected by permits. You must always meet these requirements – no matter what else the building law requires of you.

Adapting storage container sheds to your needs

When you choose one of our material containers from our product range, you’ll also have the option to personalise it for your specific needs. Smaller container sheds allow you to change the door hinge, depending on your room requirements. Large material containers allow you to order window modules, additional doors, and more. Using storage containers to store hazardous materials

When storing flammable liquids in drums and other substances, you’ll need hazardous goods containers and storage shelf units, which are fireproof or certified, according to the respective technical rules and standards.

Whether storage containers are suitable for the storage and handling of hazardous substances cannot be answered in general terms. In any case, these space systems must be equipped with additional safety precautions.

If you’re looking for advice, we’re more than happy to help you and guide you, so you can understand our product range or prepare specifically for your storage requirements for hazardous substances. Please get in touch with us to find out more.
