SiS Li-Ion Basic Store EI 90 battery safety storage cabinet – LaCont with fire suppression system

The LaCont LI-ION Basic Charge EI 90 battery storage cabinet is the ideal entry-level model for the passive storage of lithium-ion batteries, with a main focus on fire protection.

The robust overall construction, tested by the Material Testing Institute (MPA) Dresden, has a fire resistance of 90 minutes from inside and out (EI90) in accordance with DIN EN 1363-1. Thanks to all-round fire protection seals that automatically foam up in the event of fire, the LaCont LI-ION Basic protects against fires inside the cabinet, whereby the emission of smoke and toxic fumes is minimised. The aim here is to gain time for the evacuation of people in the vicinity and for the fire brigade to initiate extinguishing measures.

Further standard equipment includes an integrated ventilation system with smoke detector and fan (for power supply cut-off), 4 height-adjustable grid shelf storage levels, each with a load capacity of 75 kg (with evenly distributed load), a plinth with a cover that can be accessed by a pallet truck for easy relocation, as well as fire-resistant cable glands for customer-side installation of fire detectors or potential-free contacts.

Construction from non-combustible building material (Class A2-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1) including coating (body in aluminium colour / doors RAL 1023 – traffic yellow), floor sump made of zinc plated sheet steel, 17 litres sump capacity.

With fire suppression system (aerosol extinguishing generator), with non-mains dependent activation in the event of fire or impermissible temperature increase starting from 180 °C.
Function: when the solid contained in the extinguishing generator is activated, an aerosol comprised of solid and gaseous particles is produced. These spread throughout the entire cabinet in milliseconds, displacing oxygen, diluting combustible gases and starting the extinguishing process. This means the aerosol interrupts the chemical chain reaction of the fire process by displacing oxygen, among other things, and terminates it. If the fire suppression system is not activated, the maintenance free service life totals 10 years.
