Where should all the documents be put that are so important to the company that their loss or destruction would represent a major catastrophe? Where should all the valuables go to keep sticky fingers from being tempted? In safes from the product range offered by KAISER+KRAFT, of course. We stock different security levels and designs so that you can stay on the safe side – regardless of what may come.
Locks and keys alone usually won't keep important documents and valuable utensils completely safe and sound. At least this is the way insurance companies usually see it. They specify very exact security criteria for certain objects or values, which the safes used need to satisfy.
The two most important aspects are burglary protection and fire protection. The material, including all connections and locks, must be able to withstand a certain amount of blunt force for a specific period of time. There are resistance units (RU) that apply, and which are defined in more detail in the EU standard 1143-1.
A high level of resistance to fire and extinguisher water is also expected from so-called data safes. Among others, EN 1047-1 provides useful information.
Depending on the content, or the purpose for which the security cupboards are used, these factors play a different role when making a choice. Lower classes will suffice for files that only need to be kept safe from unauthorised access. The same applies for a cash box which is only used for storing and keeping tabs on the petty cash.
We have compiled two purchasing guides for you, which contain all the most important information about these key selection criteria. Simply take a look at Selecting the right safe or cast a glance over the Purchasing guide to safes.
When it comes to personal items of value, then built-in furniture safes or corresponding compact steel safety cupboards are always the best choice. And they also give you the option of implementing particularly high security standards.
The greatest advantages of these products is that they can be perfectly integrated into existing office furniture – and can therefore be concealed. Furthermore, many of our products can be embedded in furniture or be anchored to the wall to security purposes.
Speaking of anchoring: the way safes are installed is also a key factor for insurance companies when a claim is made. If you have any doubts, it's definitely worth asking for more information.
To ensure you're making the right choice, you should think about the following beforehand:
If data protection is an important topic for you – for example, in a doctors' practice – then you'll also find that KAISER+KRAFT does, of course, also have lockable suspension filing cabinets and similar products for you.
One important feature of secure safes is the weight. This will end up being a challenge when you want to replace your worn-out safe with a newer version. If you want to be clever about it, then make use of the safe service offered by KAISER+KRAFT. What you need to know about this service is something we're always happy to explain to you in person.
