How do you bring high-tech, storage space and a break room under one factory roof – without erecting a whole new building? By looking upwards! That's exactly what Hako did. It joined kaiserkraft to find a solution that creates more than just additional space.

The assignment
When it comes to cleaning machines and multifunctional equipment carriers, Hako GmbH is an industry leader. More than 2000 employees worldwide ensure things stay clean – while also needing tidy solutions themselves. At the Bad Oldesloe site, not only did a production facility need to be remodelled; it also needed a clever extension to provide more space for sensitive technology, clever warehouse logistics and relaxing breaks for employees. The answer? A steel platform that can do more than just provide support – supplied by kaiserkraft.
The challenge
The in-house print shop for operating instructions in all major world languages had to be integrated into the new production facility – in a way that minimises noise and saves space. Not only this – the Hako team wanted storage space and a place for employees to retreat to. All this under one roof too? Yes – but with an additional floor.
The solution
Instead of compromises, there are now two clearly structured floor levels.
At the bottom: the soundproofed print shop – cleverly integrated and screened off from the production area. At the top: a masterful use of space. The platform also serves as a storage area and a recreation area.
The outcome
Maximum benefits using minimal space – and all that without building an extension. The smart platform solution makes it possible: short routes for production, peace and quiet for the print shop, and a place to take a break for anyone who needs a breather in between. Best of all, however, is that everything looks as if it has been cast from a single mould – just with a higher maximum load capacity.
