With a similarly low thermal conductivity value as polystyrene, hemp is considered an excellent insulation material. Actively breathing natural fibres insulate and regulate the level of humidity in the box. In combination with cooling elements or dry ice, the 18 mm thick hemp fleece ensures the cold chain remains intact for up to 24 hours. The hemp matting is also characterised by its high resilience and its natural appearance and pleasant feel. The terra Landbox^® – thermo box made of light hemp is not only good for the environment, but also for your budget: three to five times as many thermo boxes fit on a Euro pallet than comparably sized polystyrene boxes. This saves transport and storage costs.
The raw material is sourced exclusively from certified hemp growers. The plant casts plenty of shade and improves soil fertility. Weeds don't stand a chance around hemp, making the use of crop protection chemicals unnecessary. 97% of the plant can be exploited for the production of clothing, food and medicines, meaning hemp is characterised by an exemplary eco-balance.
